Shakti - The Divine Feminine
Share
From ancient times to the present day, Hinduism has revered the Divine Feminine as Shakti, the primordial energy that sustains, protects, and transforms the universe. Manifested through various goddesses, Shakti represents strength, wisdom, compassion, and resilience. One of many is Goddess Durga, the embodiment of courage and power, worshipped as the destroyer of evil and the protector of righteousness.
According to Hindu mythology, she was created through the combined energies of Lord Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva to defeat the demon Mahishasura, a force no individual deity could overcome alone. Like every woman who manifests and carries Shakti, this exquisite piece of jewellery remains no different.
As Goddess Durga is depicted with eight or ten arms, this exquisite pair of earrings also represents each arm holding a special weapon (Astra) bestowed upon her by the gods. The Trishul (trident), the Gada (mace), the Sudarshana Chakra (discus), the Khadga (sword), the Dhanush (bow), and the Shankha (conch shell), each symbol evokes a profound sense of strength, cosmic balance, and the ultimate triumph of good over evil.
The crescent-shaped spine of the ear cuffs features a richly textured, gold-plated surface and, delicately framing the inner and outer contours is a pristine lining of tiny seed pearls, adding a soft, graceful contrast to the powerful structural form.
With generations that have passed and generations yet to come, the spirit of Shakti continues to live on in women who embody courage, resilience, and unwavering strength.
