Hats became a staple from the 16th century in women’s fashion. Although its origin goes back to the dawn of time when it was used primarily for covering the head, it was widely seen as an indicator of wealth used by royals excessively to showcase prestige and class.
The picture Hat was the legacy of Georgiana Cavendish;
Duchess of Devonshire during late Georgian Britain which left a deep imprint. It was evolved and adopted by various elites especially Princess Diana in the 80s followed by Kate Middleton and Megan Markle.
Our design is reminiscent of that legacy while being boldly symbolic of contemporary royal trends in headgear. After World War 2nd the headgear became less luxurious but the trend was revived by Princess Diana with her avant-garde outfits.
Especially in a headgear like ours, the designers have opted for mesh weaving which gives the piece a novel touch
as Edwardian hats relied on straw weaving techniques which they exported from Italy. The matte finish topped with the feather gives it a polished touch and represents royalty and class.
A picture hat design jewellery headpiece with flamboyantly crafted feathers is a must-have for not only royal fashion enthusiasts but anyone who looks for opportunities to use ornaments to style their look.
